Description
A grand antique Victorian bangle from the mid 19th Century depicting a coiled snake holding a large, turquoise studded leaf in its mouth. Beautiful floral engraving is etched across the serpents head and wraps around twinkling paste eyes and a larger pear cut gold paste crowned in the centre.
Serpent jewellery was popular in the Victorian era and symbolised a wonderful combination of love, loyalty and friendship with their coiled shape representing an infinite, everlasting bond.
Its modelled in 18ct gold gilt metal and opens out on a series of hinges across the band. Its remained in pristine condition and is a stunning statement piece with a lovely sentiment attached.
